1. Introduction
Welcome to RCD Electrical Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our website and the provision of electrical services throughout England.
By booking our services, requesting a quotation, or using our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and comply with applicable UK legislation including:
- Consumer Rights Act 2015
- Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013
- Electrical Safety Standards applicable in England
- UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
2. Our Services
We provide domestic and commercial electrical services including but not limited to:
- Emergency electrical call-outs
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Electrical repairs and maintenance
- Consumer unit upgrades
- Lighting installation and repairs
- Socket and switch installations
- Electrical inspections and testing
- EICR reports
- Rewiring works
- Commercial electrical services
All services are subject to availability, site inspection, accessibility, and suitability of the existing installation.
3. Estimates and Pricing
Any quotation or estimate provided is based on the information available at the time and may be revised if additional faults, labour, or materials are identified during attendance.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, quotations are estimates only.
Additional charges may apply where:
- Additional labour is required
- Further faults are discovered
- Additional materials or parts are necessary
- Unsafe or non-compliant installations are identified
A minimum one-hour attendance charge applies to all visits regardless of the actual time spent on-site.
4. Emergency Call-Outs
Emergency or out-of-hours call-out fees may require advance payment before attendance is confirmed.
Call-out fees contribute towards travel, scheduling, administration, and emergency attendance costs.
The call-out fee:
- Becomes non-refundable once an engineer has been dispatched
- Does not guarantee completion of the works
- Does not include materials, additional labour, testing, or certification unless stated otherwise
In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, cancellation rights may be lost once emergency works have commenced with your express consent.
5. Additional Works
If additional faults or safety concerns are discovered during attendance, we will seek your approval before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate works where continuation may be unsafe, unlawful, or technically inappropriate.
6. Access, Parking and Attendance
You are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed appointment time.
Additional charges may apply due to:
- Restricted access
- Missed appointments
- Waiting time
- Parking restrictions or fees
- Building management delays
Congestion Charge, ULEZ charges, parking fees, permits, or tolls incurred during attendance may be added to the final invoice where applicable.
If we cannot gain access within a reasonable time and are unable to contact you, we reserve the right to cancel the appointment and charge the applicable attendance fee.
7. Payments
Payment terms may vary depending on the nature and value of the works.
We reserve the right to request:
- Full payment in advance
- A deposit before commencement
- Stage payments for larger projects
Final payment is due immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Accepted payment methods may include:
- Bank transfer
- Debit or credit card
- Cash where accepted
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We request a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Late cancellations may result in the loss of deposits or attendance fees.
We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to emergencies, staff illness, weather conditions, material shortages, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
9. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information regarding the required works
- Ensure safe access to the premises
- Disclose any known hazards or defects
- Ensure children, vulnerable persons, and pets are appropriately supervised during attendance
Failure to provide accurate information may result in delays, additional charges, or cancellation of works.
10. Liability
We shall carry out all services using reasonable care and skill in accordance with current UK regulations and recognised industry standards.
10.1 Electrical Safety
We reserve the right to isolate or disconnect unsafe electrical installations where there is a risk to persons or property.
10.2 Existing Installations
We are not responsible for faults arising from pre-existing defects, ageing wiring, hidden faults, or installations not carried out by us.
10.3 Limitation of Liability
We shall not be liable for:
- Pre-existing defects or hidden faults
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Business interruption or loss of earnings
- Failures caused by customer-supplied materials or equipment
- Damage caused by third-party workmanship
Any concerns regarding damage must be reported within 48 hours of completion.
10.4 Non-Excludable Rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any rights which cannot lawfully be excluded under English law
11. Materials and Equipment
Materials supplied by us remain our property until fully paid for.
Customer-supplied materials or equipment are used entirely at the customer’s own risk.
We accept no liability for defects, incompatibility, counterfeit items, or failures relating to customer-supplied products.
12. Workmanship Guarantee
We provide a workmanship guarantee of up to 12 months on qualifying electrical works subject to:
- Normal domestic or commercial use
- No interference by third parties
- No misuse, negligence, or accidental damage
- Full payment having been received
Manufacturer warranties apply separately to supplied products where applicable.
13. Certification and Compliance
Where applicable, certification will be issued in accordance with BS 7671 and current UK electrical regulations.
Certification relates only to works carried out directly by RCD Electrical Ltd unless expressly stated otherwise.
14. Insurance
We maintain appropriate public liability insurance in accordance with UK industry standards.
Any insurance-related claims must be supported by written evidence and reported promptly.
15. Website Use

We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
